PJ Harvey and John Parish preview new album at SXSW

Pair play a packed-out show at Stubb's

PJ Harvey and John Parish previewed their forthcoming album, 'A Woman A Man Walked By', at the South By Southwest festival tonight (March 21), playing a packed out show at the outdoors Stubb's venue.

Taking the stage at 10pm (CST), Harvey wore a long white dress and headgear, leading her band through new numbers including 'Sixteen, Fifteen, Fourteen', 'Leaving California' and 'Pig Will Not'.

Harvey and Parish, backed by a full band of musicians, opened their set with ’Black Hearted Love’ – a new song that recalls the rockier moments of Harvey’s back catalogue.

The sparse 'The Soldier', meanwhile, more closely resembled the subtler moments on recent album 'White Chalk'.

Harvey thanked the packed Austin crowd, noting that it was her and the band's first time in the city, saying that they had been "having a really nice time".

PJ Harvey and John Parish played:

'Black Hearted Love'
'Sixteen, Fifteen, Fourteen'
'Urn With Dead Flowers In A Drained Pool'
'The Soldier’
’Taut'
’Leaving California'
’A Woman A Man Walked By'
'Cracks In The Canvas'
'Pig Will Not'
