Rape charges against Poison drummer dropped
He was not even in the state at the time of the crime
Police in Mississippi are searching for a man who posed as Poison drummer Rikki Rockett, and raped a woman in Mississippi last year.
Rockett was charged with the crime in March, after a woman at a casino in the southern state says she was raped by him in September 2007.
The drummer, however, was in California at the time of the alleged crime, and now authorities are searching for the perpetrator, whom they say has posed as a rock star in the past to pick up women. The man the police are searching for is named John Minskoff.
"I was with my fiance watching her try on wedding dresses," Rockett told The Associated Press. We've got eyewitnesses to that. That is one word you don't want associated with your name. Rape is right up there with murder and child molestation."
Poison are currently gearing up for a reunion tour, which kicks off this Thursday.
