Poison frontman Bret Michaels is recovering in hospital after undergoing heart surgery.
The metaller went under the knife yesterday (January 24) to close a hole in his heart, a problem that was discovered after he suffered a stroke in May last year.
According to Billboard, Michaels had the operation at St Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and will be kept under observation for around three or four days.
Prior to surgery the singer told Arizona Republic that he "will be down [resting] for three weeks. I don't know if I can sit around for that long, but I'll try my best".
Michaels, who won the US Celebrity Apprentice reality TV show in 2010, currently has no plans to tour in 2011 either as a solo act or as part of Poison.
