Portishead to debut new album on TV
Portishead have revealed more about 'Third', their long-awaited new album, describing it as the "older brother" of its predecessors. Guitarist Adrian Utley has also described the album's sound as a departure in some areas. He told Billboard: “It sounds nothing like 'Dummy' or 'Portishead', but it’s definitely its older brother or sister. It’s the same mindset we’ve always had, only further down the road.”
Band will play eight songs three weeks before album release
The performances from 'Third' will be recorded live in the town from which the band took their name, and as such the programme will be titled 'Portishead In Portishead'.
The broadcast will be available to watch on the Current TV website for two months after initially being shown.
'Portishead In Portishead' will be broadcast at 10pm (BST) on April 11.
