PRIMAL SCREAM GET TO WORK ON NEW ALBUM

Looks like their appearance at Glastonbury will interfere with the process...

PRIMAL SCREAM will start recording the follow-up to ’EVIL HEAT’ on Monday (June 20), bassist MANI has revealed.

The band will remain in the studio until their appearance at next weekend’s Glastonbury festival, the bassist told XFM.

He revealed: “It’s beginning to sound great and we start recording properly on Monday. We’re gonna record right up to the Sunday morning (June 26) and then chopper into Glastonbury, do the show, then get the hell out of there and get back into the studio.”

Mani said that, despite the fact Primal Scream and his old Stone Roses bandmate Ian Brown are playing on the same day, he won’t be appearing as a special guest.

He added: “Ian ain’t asked me to play. I don’t know where that came from. Another of those delicious Stone Roses rumours. D’you know what, I’ve started taking the mickey out of people and telling them any old crap. I’ve got my work cut out with Primal Scream making the new record and that’s where I’m at right now.”
