Primal Scream wowed the Barcelona leg of the Spanish Summercase Festival last night (August 18) with a set packed with hits old and new.

The band, out in support of new album 'Beautiful Future', nevertheless treated rapturous fans to classics including 'Swastika Eyes', 'Rocks' and 'Country Girl'.

Notably, the audience included bassist Mani's former Stone Roses bandmate Ian Brown, who had performed earlier in the day.

Arriving onstage 15 minutes late, Primal Scream followed northern legends The Verve, who racked up another triumphant festival show, following similarly received performances at the recent Glastonbury and T In The Park festivals.

The set also saw frontman Richard Ashcroft return to playing live with the band after been struck down with illness at the beginning of the week (July 16).

Elswhere and 2ManyDJs played to one of the biggest audiences of the night on the Walkman Stage, playing a two-hour set until well after 5am.

This line-up moves to Madrid today (July 20) while Day Two in Barcelona[/a] sees sets from Kings Of Leon, Sex Pistols, and Mogwai, who will perform their album [b]'Young Team' in its entirety.
