Prince to play Super Bowl show

He follows Rolling Stones performance

Prince to play Super Bowl show

Prince will played the half-time show at the Super Bowl in February.

Next year's Super Bowl is due to take place on February 4.

The Rolling Stones played this year's event, though were asked to censor several of their lyrics. It's believed this move followed Janet Jackson’s infamous nipple-bearing performance at the 2004 Super Bowl, which led to broadcaster CBS being fined a record $550,000 (£292,000).

The Super Bowl is one of the most watched television events in America, and past half time shows have featured the likes of U2 and Paul McCartney.

Prince meanwhile recently received five Grammy nominations.
