Prince will played the half-time show at the Super Bowl in February.

Next year's Super Bowl is due to take place on February 4.

The Super Bowl is one of the most watched television events in America, and past half time shows have featured the likes of U2 and Paul McCartney.

Prince meanwhile recently received five Grammy nominations.
