Gig-goers can get full ticket refunds for next week's Croke Park show

Prince has cancelled his Croke Park concert in Dublin.

People who had been going to the event, due to take place next Monday (June 16), will be fully refunded for their tickets and booking fee from 9am this Friday (June 13).

The official statement from concert promoters MCD said: "It is with great disappointment that the Prince concert scheduled to take place at Croke Park next Monday 16th June 2008 will no longer be taking place due to reasons beyond the control of Prince and MCD Productions."

The statement concluded: "MCD & Prince wish to apologise for the inconvenience caused to the 55,161 patrons who purchased tickets, to Croke Park, their customers and all the individuals who have worked tirelessly to bring the show to Dublin."

Prince - you're still at it? Every fan knows what it's like to suffer. How many tours can one man cancel, how many fanzines can he close down. Prince gigs can be so amazing, but he makes liking him such hard work
