Public Enemy's Flavor Flav has been arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

The member of the rap group was taken by police earlier today (October 17) after allegedly threatening the teenage son of his fiancée with a knife during an argument.

TMZ reports that Flav was taken for felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanour domestic violence and is currently being held on $23,000 (£14,228) bail.

Last year, Flavor Flav - real name William Drayton Jr - was arrested for driving offences in Los Angeles. He was taken in as he had four warrants for his arrest due to driving crimes. The offences, which Flav had failed to settle before being picked up, were a parking violation, driving without proof of insurance and two counts of driving without a licence.

Public Enemy are still set to headline this year's Freeze Festival in London. The event takes place in Battersea Power Station over the weekend of October 26-27 and will also feature sets from Mark Ronson, and Grandmaster Flash.

The seminal rap group are also among the nominations for 2013's Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. Those with the most votes will be inducted on April 18, 2013 at the Nokia Theatre in LA and, for the first time, the public gets to vote alongside the industry insiders of the voting committee. From now until December 5 you can vote via Rolling Stone.
