French film star Charlotte Gainsbourg has got some help from Jarvis Cocker on her new single.
Cocker, along with Air and The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon, has co-written ‘The Songs That We Sing’, which is out on August 28.
It’s the first release comes from Gainsbourg’s new album, ‘5:55’, which is out on September 4.
The album was recorded in Paris and produced by Nigel Godrich, famous for his work with Radiohead. Air’s Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel wrote and played all the music on the album while Canadian composer David Campbell, the father of Beck, was responsible for the string arrangements.
‘5:55’ is Gainsbourg’s second album – her first, ‘Charlotte Forever’, was a collection of songs written by her father, the legendary French poet and singer Serge Gainsbourg, and recorded when she was 13.
