Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker will give songwriting tips during a lecture at this year's SXSW festival.

As reported in to Spin, the singer will share his wisdom during a talk at the Texas bash which, according to SXSW organisers, will see him discuss his growth as a musician and "the meaning of artistic vision".

Speaking about the event, which will take places at 12.30pm in the Austin Convention Center's Room on March 12, SXSW's Rory Burbeck said: "Join us as Mr. Cocker presents an illustrated selection of his lyrics detailing his development as a songwriter and provides useful tips for aspiring songsmiths."

It was revealed last month that Sheffield: Sex City, a documentary about Pulp's final show in 2012, will be screened during the film portion of this year's SXSW. Other films to be shown include All Is By My Side, the Jimi Hendrix biopic featuring OutKast's Andre 3000 as the iconic guitarist, the A$AP Rocky-based SVDDXNLY and American Interior, a film about Super Furry Animals' frontman Gruff Rhys.

The music leg of SXSW, meanwhile, takes place in various venues from March 11-16, and will see sets from Action Bronson, Cherry Glazerr, Chlöe Howl, East India Youth, The Family Rain, Fat White Family, Gang Of Youths, Angel Olsen, The Orwells, Perfect Pussy, San Fermin, Superfood, Sharon Van Etten, Diarrhea Planet, John Newman, Spires, Wolf Alice, Drenge, London Grammar and Bring Me The Horizon.
