PULP STARS TAKE 'DESPERATE' MEASURES

Maybe the 'Desperate' nights will give Jarvis Cocker and Steve Mackey some ideas for that long-awaited album...

PULP's JARVIS COCKER and STEVE MACKEY are launching a new club night in LONDON at an as-yet unconfirmed venue on July 20.

Called 'Desperate', the monthly event will feature live bands and guest DJs. The first 'Desperate' night took place at this year's Homelands.

Also, a new Pulp track 'Sunrise' has been sneaked into selected record shops across the UK. The 12" features the original version of the track, plus mixes by The Fat Truckers and All Seeing I.

However, a spokesperson said that the next Pulp single was not due for release until October - and it might not even be 'Sunrise'.
