Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age and Mark Lanegan have recorded the music for a new documentary show on CNN.

The pair have made the theme song for Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, a new series in which American chef and author Bourdain travels to unlikely locations to sample the local cuisine. Speaking about the song Lanegan and Homme recorded for his show, Bourdain said in a statement: "When you hear the new title music for Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown your head will explode, leaving only a smoking stump. When we heard what (Homme and Lanegan) had come up with, there was weeping and jaw-droppage."

Josh Homme struck up a friendship with Bourdain after meeting him as part of previous series No Reservations, which explored the music world and featured appearances from The Black Keys, Sleigh Bells and Neon Indian. Future episodes of Parts Unknown will see Bourdain visit lesser known spots in Los Angeles, Peru, Congo and Asia.

Queens Of The Stone Age will release their forthcoming new album '…Like Clockwork' on June 3. The LP is made up of 10 tracks and was produced by Homme and the band at Pink Duck in Burbank, California. The album contains a list of guest stars, including Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, Dave Grohl, Elton John, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters.
