Several black activists are planning to protest R Kelly's show at the Los Angeles Forum on Friday (December 12).
They intend to demonstrate against the presence of the R&B star who has been charged with several counts of child pornography.
"It's a challenge to get the black community to even discuss it," activist Jasmyne Cannick told the Los Angeles Times. "They're acting like he doesn't have 14 counts of child pornography against him...We're all acting like we don't have daughters and nieces and little sisters."
The criminal case against Kelly is still pending, but his career has taken off in the meantime. His recent album 'Double Up' was his fifth album to debut at Number One on the Billboard charts. He has also been nominated for two 2008 Grammy Awards.
