R Kelly did not show up to a court-appointed hearing in Chicago today (December 19) related to his child pornography charges.
The singer, 40, allegedly videotaped sex acts with a young teenage girl. He has pleaded not guilty.
Cook County prosecutors asked the judge to issue a warrant for his arrest for missing the appointment. The judge agreed, but put it on hold until tomorrow morning (December 20), when he has been ordered to appear in court, reports the Associated Press.
Kelly's attorney said he missed today's hearing because his tour bus was delayed when Utah authorities pulled over his tour bus and ordered it to stop for eight hours. A log book reportedly showed that the driver had not been given enough rest time.
Kelly is currently in the midst of a North American tour. He has cancelled tomorrow's show in Minneapolis, but a Chicago show on Friday is currently set to go ahead as planned.
