R Kelly remains free after bail is not revoked
The singer is off the hook - for now
R Kelly has managed to avoid having his bail revoked after missing a court appearance on Wednesday (December 19).
The singer attended a rescheduled court appearance the following day, where he was admonished by Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan for his behaviour.
The judge today (December 21) ordered him to cancel a concert date on January 13 to ensure that he attends a January 14 court date, reports the Associated Press.
Kelly attributed his Wednesday absence to Utah police stopping his tour bus and ordering the driver to pull over and get some rest.
Kelly is charged with child pornography for video taping himself having sex with an underage girl, thought to be 13 or 14 years old. The case has taken almost six years to come to trial.
