R Kelly to write about child pornography charge in memoirs

R Kelly is set to write about his trial for child pornography charges as part of his memoirs, which he is set to publish in 2011.

The singer will write as Robert Kelly alongside writer David Ritz, with the memoirs being published by Smiley Books, reports BBC News.

"I'm tired of being misunderstood," Kelly said. "I will show you the tears, fears and sweat. I will open my heart and reveal the good in my life, as well as all the drama. I want to tell it like it is."

The publishers confirmed that, in the as-yet-untitled book, Kelly would write about his trial and the events leading up to it, describing them as "the six-year legal ordeal that nearly ruined his life".

In June last year Kelly was found not guilty of taping himself having sex with an underage girl, following the release of a video in 2002.
