R Kelly reveals he is working on a house album – watch

R&B singer made announcement live onstage at recent live show

R Kelly has revealed he is taking his music in a dance direction and working on a house album.

The revelation came from the R&B crooner while onstage at the Chosen Few DJs Picnic in Chicago. R Kelly performed at the event on July 5 and spoke to the audience about his latest project. Click above to watch fan-shot footage of the announcement.

"I want y'all to know a secret. I'm working on a house album right now, and I want y'all to know, it's coming," he told his hometown crowd. "And y'all know, I love music and I feel like I can do anything when it comes to music because I am music just like y'all."

In 2013 R Kelly said he was at work on "seven or eight albums", including festive album '12 Nights Of Christmas'. He also confirmed that he is working on a follow-up to his 2013 album 'Black Panties', titled 'White Panties'.
