BBC Radio 1 has invited bands from Kent to apply to apply for a gig slot at the forthcoming Radio 1 Big Weekend Fringe Festival, set to take place in Maidstone in May.
A specific date for the event is yet to be announced.
Bands can apply through the BBC Radio 1 One Big Weekend website. A judging panel including presenters James Bursey and Tom Kirkby and Radio 1's Huw Stephens will select the bands from those who enter.
The selected bands will perform at a special gig in Maidstone, with Stephens choosing two of the bands to go on and perform on the Introducing Stage at the Radio 1 Big Weekend.
Bands can apply by going to bbc.co.uk/radio1/bigweekend.
