Radiohead, The Clash, Muse, Oasis and Nirvana have made it onto the shortlist to be the first inductee into Xfm’s Hall of Fame.
The five legendary bands came out on top in a vote by Xfm’s listeners, and now a final online vote will decide who will be the inaugural band to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The vote will become an annual event.
The five shortlisted acts were announced this morning (May 23) on the Lauren Laverne Breakfast Show, and listeners will have until Monday (29) to register their vote for the winner.
On May 27 a panel of industry experts, including NME Editor Conor McNicholas, will gather at Xfm London’s West End HQ for a live show fronted by Lucio. All will discuss the relative merits of each of the five nominated bands.
The winner will be announced on May 30.

Xfm are also seeking an artist to produce a piece of artwork to commemorate the winning band. The results will be displayed at the Proud Gallery in Camden, north London and then on a ‘Wall of Fame’ at a suitable location to be chosen by the listeners.
