Radiohead to play Oxford club?
Rumours circulate they will play reopening of The Zodiac
Radiohead are rumoured to be playing at the reopening of a club in their hometown.
The Zodiac club in Oxford is being given a £2million pound makeover and will be reopening in September.
The Academy Music Group, the company that bought the venue, refused to rule out the possibility Radiohead would appear at the gala reopening of the venue. The band played the club in its original form in 1996 in front of 400 people.
The refurbishment will see the club's capacity increase from 750 to 1,150 people, and will house three separate venues under the same roof.
The main venue will be renamed The Carling Academy Oxford, while The Zodiac will exist as a smaller venue upstairs, and host new bands only. A third element will be a stand alone bar and club to be called the Bar Academy.
The band have yet to confirm or deny the rumours, reports Ateaseweb.com.
