Rough Trade suspend instores after free Radiohead gig

...But bands will be back in the store later this month
Rough Trade East has announced it has suspend instore band performances after the free Radiohead gig last month (January 16).
Thom Yorke and co were due to play the shop, but had to move their gig to the neighbouring 93 Feet East venue at the last minute due to concerns about the size of the crowd present.
A message on their website reads: “Following our Radiohead in-store on January 16, we are suspending any further instore performances at Rough Trade East until further notice. We apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause. This does not affect in-stores held at our Talbot Road store (AKA Rough Trade West).”
The Brick Lane branch of the store was swamped with fans desperate to get into the shop to catch a glimpse of the band playing tracks from their new album 'In Rainbows'.
Radiohead eventually played nearby venue 93 Feet East after police threatened to close down the initial venue.
However, Rough Trade have told NME.COM that in-store gigs will gear up again later this month, beginning with Pete And The Pirates (February 18), (20) and Vampire Weekend (29).
The Rough Trade website will have information about how to get tickets for the in-store gigs soon.
