The track is available to download now

Radiohead's Thom Yorke has made a new remix of his solo song 'Harrowdown Hill' available as a free download, in celebration of Barack Obama's win in the US presidential election.

The song, the original of which appeared on Yorke's 2006 solo album 'The Eraser', is available to download now from Radiohead.com.

Yorke wrote on the website: "In celebration of November 5, Jonny's [Greenwood, guitarist] birthday amid bonfire and fireworks in the UK and the dawn of a new era in politics in the USA, I humbly donate a remix of 'Harrowdown Hill' that was finished ages ago during the band webcasts, a small reminder of the dark days of Bush's."

Radiohead completed their world tour last month after playing a series of dates in Japan.

Radiohead bore me massivley. I've got in Rainbows and it's alright but their just not as exciting or as thrilling as bands like Arctic Monkeys or British Sea Power (eg Fast paced guitar bands) just my opinion of course! :)

This Soundedd guy has an awful taste in music and doesn't seem to mind letting everyone else know. You're seriously comparing the Arctic Monkeys to Radiohead?

Soundedd- thanks for your opinion. It was really useful. We all felt it enlightened us and gave us a new outlook on life. Thank you. I wish all bands were fast-paced with guitars. Diversity and innovation is boring. I'd love to hear your thoughts on other bands. Have a great day. Thanks again!

Thom yorke + poltics = the most depressing moment of life ever, on another note if a razor light advert playing their music ever pops up in front of me while typing again im going to have to top myself.

I can't believe you just said that Soundedd....you must be on planet fucking Mars if you think Arctic Monkeys are anywhere near as good as Radiohead. You can't even begin to compare them until they release a few more albums. Radiohead are the best band of the last 10 years.

binstig, if you were referring to the above comment from Soundedd, I'm not sure you could class him as an "idiot who has to share his hatred". If you reading their post you'll see it's actually very polite and explains why they disapprove rather than just saying "Radiohead are shite." I'm a fan of Radiohead but, as Soundedd did point out, that's "just my opinion."

Soundedd...are you serious? 'I have In Rainbows and its alright'. I've seen some of your comments on here praising bands who aren't fit to lace Thom Yorke's shoes. Radiohead are the greatest band of this generation. They define our time and will go down in history as one of the greatest bands of all time. They are on a par with the Beatles. Just my opinion though of course!

Did anybody see on the Radiohead website, a photo of Thom Yorke introducing ".....Kieran "BURIAL" Hebden" !! Is it true??

Sorry, but this is just another ego masturbation from an extremely bland band who will be forgotten in 10 years, as is 99.9% of most music created in the past 20 years.

Thank you Tremor!! This website needs more polite people like yourself!. Yeah I bought the album to see what the fuss was all about, and didn't like it. I disagree with thombegood though, very few bands if any are on a par with the Beatles, and Radiohead sadly is not one of them, just my opinion!!! haha

This song is not a "celebration" song, it's about Bush's darkness and it's supposed to remind us of what we hopefully won't be seeing any more of.
