A lost Radiohead track, which was supposedly recorded by the band in the early 1990s, has been revealed as a hoax.
The title of the track was given as both 'Putting Ketchup In The Fridge' and 'How Do You Sit Still' by Radiohead fan site Ateaseweb.com, which wrote of the track: "A track surfaced today with vocals sounding like Thom Yorke's together with a Radiohead sound that could’ve been recorded in the early nineties. Think 'Pablo Honey', 'The Bends'."
However, according to CNN, the track is actually the work of singer-songwriter Christopher Stopa, who revealed that he found out that his 2001 track 'Sit Still' was being labelled as a lost Radiohead song when he sat down to listen to the track online.
Stopa runs a bakery in Canada and was once in a band called Morris Air. You can listen to his track by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
Last month, two previously unreleased Radiohead demos were posted online. The songs, 'Everybody Knows' and 'Girl (In The Purple Dress)', were recorded when the band were still known as On A Friday and before guitarist Jonny Greenwood joined the band.
