Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello has put out a call on Twitter for "10,000 guitar players" to join him tomorrow (May 1) in New York for the city's May Day Occupy Wall Street demonstrations.
The guitarist and singer, who performs as The Nightwatchman, wrote:
I'm putting a new band together and ur in it. Our 1st rehearsal is tomm noon @ Bryant Park in NYC. Looking for about 10,000 guitar players

He added: "Join my new band! Don't have a guitar? Bring a drum. No drum? Bring a kazoo. No kazoo? Just come. Bryant Park/noon tomm. #MayDayThrowdown"
Tom Morello – who has recently joined Bruce Springsteen on a number of US tour dates – has been linked to the Occupy movement since it formed last year. In 2011, he played shows at Occupy camps across the world, including those in London, Los Angeles and New York.
Tomorrow's Occupy Wall Street protests will see a reinvigorated movement stage a 'pop-up' occupation in Manhattan's Bryant Park and a march from Union Square to Lower Manhattan.
Last year a host of musicians made their support of the global anti-consumerist and anti-capitalist Occupy movement known at Occupymusicians.com. Here the likes of Morello, Lou Reed, Amanda Palmer, Guy Picciotto and Ian MacKaye of Fugazi, Jello Biafra of Dead Kennedys, Saul Williams, Merrill Garbus of TUnE-yArDs, Roy Harper, Sharon Van Etten, Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond and Talib Kweli pledged support to the Occupy movement around the world.
