Rage Against The Machine are reported to be returning to the live stage to play the Coachella Festival.

The band, who split up in 2000, are tipped to be headliners alongside Bjork and Red Hot Chili Peppers at the bash in April.

The event will take place at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. It has expanded this year from two to three days for the first time.

Pitchfork also reports that Arcade Fire, Interpol, Sonic Youth, Kings Of Leon, Air and The Decemberists are also among the acts confirmed to appear.

Further names are set to be revealed shortly.

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will take place on April 27-29.
