Detais of Rage Against The Machine's promised free UK gig is set to be announced later this week (beginning February 8), according to a top UK gig and festival promoted.
Last December Tom Morello, Zack de la Rocha and co promised to play a free UK show if their song 'Killing In the Name' made the Christmas Number One slot ahead of The X Factor winner Joe McElderry's 'The Climb'. Following the victory, promoter Andy Copping has said details of the show are imminent.
Writing on his Twitter page, Twitter.com/maverick_AC on Saturday (6), the Download and Live Nation promoter said, "There should be news regarding the free Rage Against The Machine gig late next week..."
"As promised we will play a free concert in the UK in celebration of this incredible upset victory over the heavily favoured X Factor single, de la Rocha confirmed following the successful Facebook campaign to get the song to the peak of the UK singles chart.
