Punk legends set for silver screen

The Ramones: The Film?

A film of the career of The Ramones is set to be made.

Producer Rory Rosegarten has snapped up the film rights to the forthcoming book ’I Slept With Joey Ramone’.

The book is planned to be an authorised biography written by Joey Ramone’s brother Mickey Leigh and legendary music journalist Legs McNeil.

Rosegarten has also negotiated a deal with Joey Ramone’s mother Charlotte Lesher executor of his estate, which would allow him to use the group's music in the film, film industry newspaper Variety reports.

The Ramones were previously the subject for the acclaimed 2003 documentary ’End Of The Century’.
