Not guilty plea in murder of Ramones manager

Natavia Lowery denies murdering her boss Linda Stein in apartment

Not guilty plea in murder of Ramones manager
Natavia Lowery has denied murdering ex-Ramones manager Linda Stein at her apartment on New York’s Upper East Side on October 30.

Lowery, who was Stein’s personal assistant, was arrested on November 9 in connection with the murder. She initially denied any involvement in the death, but later confessed to the killing.

She at one point claims that a masked man had commit the crime after bursting into the apartment and telling Lowery she would be the last person to see Stein alive.

She then admitted she killed her boss with a weighted yoga stick after Stein had brandished the stick, blown smoke in her face and made racist comments.

Lowery’s attorney Ron Kuby is saying Lowery was coerced into a false confession after a 12-hour interrogation session.

"She had to make something up to get out of that room," Kuby said, according to the Associated Press.

Surveillance footage shows Lowery leaving the building shortly after the murder took place. The murder weapon was never found.

Lowery, 26, is reportedly pregnant with her fiance’s child. This will be used in an argument to have her released on bail on December 12.

Linda Stein, the ex-wife of Sire Records’ legend Seymour Stein, was once a co-manager of Ramones with Danny Fields. She was most recently known as a ‘realtor to the stars’ for her work finding homes for celebrities.
