The Ramones biopic to be finally made?
Fox Searchlight in negotiations to make the film
A biopic about the Ramones could finally be getting made.
Fox Searchlight the company behind films like 'Napoleon Dynamite' and 'Juno', is reported to be in negotiations to be making the film, reports ABC News.
The film will be based on the forthcoming book 'I Slept With Joey Ramone', which is the biography of the legendary frontman and is written by Joey Ramone's brother Mickey Leigh and music journalist Legs McNeil.
The project has been rumoured since 2006, when producer Rory Rosegarten snapped up the film rights to the book.
As well as the film rights Rosegarten also negotiated a deal with Joey Ramone's mother and executor of his estate Charlotte Lesher,, which would allow him to use the group's music in the biopic, film industry newspaper Variety reports.
The Ramones were previously the subject for the acclaimed 2003 documentary 'End Of The Century'.
