Johnny Ramone tribute event to take place tomorrow (October 3)
A tribute event to commemorate the death of the Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone is due to take place tomorrow (October 3).

Taking place at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles the evening will see the world premiere of the film 'Night of the Living Dead 3-D', as well as the 1977 Ramones concert film 'It's Alive'.

"Johnny was a huge horror movie buff, and 'Night of the Living Dead' was one of his top ten horror film favorites of all time," said organiser John Cafiero in a press release about the event. "We've started a tradition screening some of Johnny's favorite movies, paired in a double feature with vintage Ramones concerts each year at the annual tribute."

Now in its fifth year, the event will raise money for prostate cancer research, the disease which killed the guitarist back in 2004.

As well as the films, fans will also be able to see an art show by Dee Dee Ramone and also have the chance to get autographs from Tommy and CJ Ramone.

Entry costs $10 and gates open at 5.30pm, with the whole evening being filmed for an upcoming documentary.

As previously reported, a biopic about the Ramones is currently in development.
