Ray Davies' solo album gets US release
Kinks legend's 'Working Man's Cafe' is due out next year
The Kinks legend Ray Davies will release a new solo album in the US next year.
'Working Man's Cafe' is Davies' second solo album and is due out Stateside on February 19.
The album features 12 original songs. Davies wrote the track 'Morphine' while he was a patient at Charity Hospital in Louisiana after being attacked and shot in New Orleans. Davies said that writing the song helped him work through the fear of being in the hospital and the pain from the shooting.
Davies worked with producer/engineer Ray Kennedy (Fleetwood Mac, Steve Earle) to record the album in Nashville, Tennessee.
A deluxe CD/DVD version of the album containing bonus artwork, live performance footage and a video interview with Davies will also be released, as well as a limited edition 180 gram vinyl record.
The album tracklisting is:
'Vietnam Cowboys'
'You're Asking Me'
'Working Man's Cafe'
'Morphine Song'
'In A Moment'
'Peace In Our Time'
'No One Listen'
'Imaginary Man'
'One More Time'
'The Voodoo Walk'
'Hymn for a New Age'
'The Real World'
