Stars gear up for ShockWaves NME Awards 2006

Rock'N'Roll’s hottest movers and shakers are gearing up for the best awards ceremony in the world – the ShockWaves NME Awards 2006.

Kicking off at 7pm tonight at London’s Hammersmith Palais (February 23), the show will feature exclusive live performances from Razorlight, Dirty Pretty Things, Plan B and this year’s recipient of the Godlike Genius Award, Ian Brown.

Presented by Russell Brand, the ceremony will also be watched by stars including Kaiser Chiefs, Editors, Bloc Party and New Order’s Peter Hook .

Final preparations are currently being made, while soundchecks for the bands are in full swing for what is sure to be the biggest and best ShockWaves NME Awards yet.
