Razorlight team up with The Who Razorlight Tickets

Band play brand new songs at charity gig

Razorlight team up with The Who

Razorlight linked-up with The Who during their Teenage Cancer Trust gig at the Royal Albert Hall in London last night (March 30).

The band, who took a brief break from recording their second album to play the show, were joined by Roger Daltrey on guest vocals during their encore.

Introducing the Teenage Cancer Trust patron, Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell told the sold out crowd: “The main reason we are really here is Roger Daltrey put this all together. So here is the legend, Roger Daltrey.”

The Who man sang ‘Summertime Blues’ with the band, declaring afterwards “that was totally jammed!”.

In addition, Razorlight used their set to try out new material from sessions for album number two.

Playing new songs ‘In The Morning’, ‘Back To The Start’, ‘Can’t Stop This Feeling’ and ‘Fall To Pieces’, the group also premiered a song they’d written earlier this week. The band have given it a working title of 'Pop Song 2006'.

Razorlight played:

‘VICE’
‘In The Morning’
‘Rip It Up’
‘Back To The Start’
‘(Don’t Go Back To) Dalston’
‘Can’t Stop This Feeling’
‘Americadia’
‘Bright Lights’
'Pop Song 2006'
‘Kirby’s House’
‘Golden Touch’
‘Fall To Pieces’
‘In The City’
‘Fall, Fall, Fall’
‘Summertime Blues’
‘Stumble And Fall’
‘Somewhere Else’

Clearly enjoying escaping the confines of the studio, 'In The City' saw Borrell make full use of his radio mic, roaming the venue before singing much of the song surrounded by fans way up in the choir pit, before rejoining his bandmates on stage.

Earlier, newcomers Boy Kill Boy had made a good impression with songs including single 'Suzie', while Dogs impressed with a set that included ‘Turn Against This Land’ cuts ‘Tuned To A Different Station’ and 'London Bridge'.

Razorlight are now set to continue their recording sessions, with their second album expected this summer.
