Razorlight bring 24 hour music marathon to a close Razorlight Tickets

They send the exhausted hordes home happy

The Carling Live 24 series of shows in London has been brought to a close by Razorlight romping through a storming set at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

The event saw 19 different bands and DJs play round the clock in a number of venues across the city starting at 7pm last night.

At this evening’s event closer, Razorlight took to the stage at 6.20pm and worked through new tracks ‘Americadia’ and ‘Can’t Stop This Feeling’ on-top of the big crowd pleasers. There were a lot of tired but happy fans who had followed the entire music marathon willing them on.

During the night, Ian Brown and kept the fire lit. took to the Islington Academy stage at midnight and mixed tracks ‘Waterfall’ and ‘I Am The Resurrection’ in with Bob Marley covers including ‘Redemption Song’ and a few of his own greatest hits like ‘F.E.A.R’. [B[GLC[/B] kicked off their typically raucous show at Canvas around 1.45am and had the Manic Street PreachersJames Dean Bradfield in the crowd.

Larrikin Love and The Holloways were up with the dawn chorus, kicking off their Camden Barfly gig at 7am. The Holloways played in pyjamas.

Dirty Pretty Things made a couple of nods to frontman Carl Barat’s heritage playing his old band’s ‘I Get Along’ during their 11am set, back across at Islington Academy. As they played there, Boy Kill Boy were entertaining with a show on a boat on the Thames.

As the afternoon crept on, the Ordinary Boys took their bows.
“I can see a few dilated pupils in the audience,” frontman Preston told the Hammersmith Palais crowd at 3.30pm. He then dedicated ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ to Chelsea FC who had earlier secured the Premiership title with a victory over Manchester United. He called for the crowd to get out their mobile phones rather than lighters for set closer ‘Seaside’.

From there, it was a short hop down to Shepherd’s Bush for the conclusion.
