Razorlight's Johnny Borrell writing songs for Florence And The Machine
Florence Welch has been playing the songs in her set recently
Borrell said he was keen to distance himself from the project because he was worried his reputation could have a negative effect on Florence Welch's band.
He told the Daily Star: "Florence And The Machine are friends of mine but I haven't really talked about it [writing songs for them], before because the press always get the wrong idea and they're just starting out.
"They've been playing some of the songs in their live set for a while now."
Florence And The Machine are set to perform on the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour next January along with Glasvegas, Friendly Fires and White Lies.
