The band play new song during NME/ Radio 1 stage set

Hadouken! played a series of new songs today (August 24) during their storming hometown set at Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival.

The band played to a rapturous crowd, in a full NME/Radio 1 tent.

Before playing ’Declaration’ singer James Smith told the crowd: “We’re going to play three new songs for you. We’re giving them away free in September because we love you. The album’s out next year.”

The emo-ish new tracks found Smith dispensing with his usual rapping for singing, while the music was also notably harder with a Enter Shikari-esque edge to it.

Before playing closer ’That Boy That Girl’, Smith said: “We’ve lost our sampler… Erm, now Chris (bassist) is going to play some slap bass for you.”

They played:

‘Superstar’
‘Liquid Lives’
‘Declaration’
‘Bounce’
‘Dance’
‘Lesson’
‘Tuning In’
‘That Boy That Girl’
