Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival passes off peacefully

The Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival passed off quietly for the second year running as the three day bash wrapped up last night (August 26).

The festival witnessed no reports of public disorder, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

Over the course of six days of camping there were a total of 29 arrests for minor offences including drug related crime and theft.

Overall there were also 130 reported crimes of theft at the northern leg of the Carling Weekend.

But the police received no reports of public disorder offences.

Before last year the event had witnessed trouble with riots often breaking out on the final night.

Since then organisers have laid on more late night entertainment for fans in an attempt to stop any trouble.
