Wombats are also down for the bash

Babyshambles and The Wombats are the latest names to join this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals, NME.COM can exclusively announce.

Pete Doherty's band will headline the NME/Radio 1 Stage on Friday (August 22) in Reading and Saturday (August 23) in Leeds.

The Wombats play just below them on the same stage.

The bands join The Killers, who are headlining the festival (Saturday in Reading/Sunday in Leeds).

NME.COM will unveil even more names at 6.45pm (BST), so make sure you're back here, plus we will be selling tickets for this year's event, so keep your browser pointing at the site.

Then at 7.30pm we will be selling tickets for the festival. Go to NME.COM/gigs for more information.

Plus get this week's issue of NME, on UK newsstands from April 2, for interviews with this year's key players.
