Reading Festival organisers are set to put 3,500 extra tickets on sale tomorrow (July 24) at 10am (BST) after getting the go-ahead to increase capacity at the event.

The capacity for the event, which takes place on August 27-29, has been raised to 82,000 for members of the public after Reading Borough Council approved the increase. The increase is part of a staggered plan, with a further proposed increase of 3,000 set for next year.

Festival chief Melvin Benn explained: "Once again I would like to thank the council for its continued support of Reading Festival and for its help in ensuring Reading Festival maintains its pole position as the greatest rock festival in the world."

Guns N' Roses, Arcade Fire and Blink-182 are set to headline the Main Stage at the festival, while The Libertines are reforming to play the event.
