Red Hot Chili Peppers' singer denies transplant rumours

Red Hot Chili Peppers' frontman Anthony Kiedis was close to suffering from kidney failure over the summer, according to friends of the star.

Sources have claimed that he was in and out of Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles for treatment for kidney disease, possibly related to his past cocaine and heroin addiction.

Friends close to the singer told The NY Daily News: "Anthony's health was pretty bleak."

"Organ failure was a possibility," explained the source. "There was talk of how to get him on a transplant list, to cover all the bases, but that opened up a whole new can of worms because people with histories of drug and alcohol abuse are less likely to receive the organs they need."

Another source claimed that the singer is over the worst, saying that "the general consensus is that the treatments helped, and he's getting better".

However Kiedis' people have denied claims that he was being treated for a kidney problem, and would not confirm or deny that he had been in hospital over the summer.

Number Johnny Five, why the heck would you wish death on someone? Not liking someone's music is one thing, but wishing death on someone is beyond sick. Better luck next time with the karma you will be receiving, you pathetic bitter loser. Unlike you, Anthony has friends, family and fans that care about him. Nobody cares about you or if it was your kidney and people probably wish such things on you. All you do is type nasty comments on this site. Get a life beyond sitting in your basement typing on the internet all day.
