REM previewed 11 new songs for a sold-out crowd in Dublin last night (July 1).
The band, who are currently working on the follow up to 2004's 'Around The Sun', played new songs on the second night of a five-night run that they have dubbed a "working rehearsal".
One of the new songs performed was 'I'm Gonna DJ', a regular on their 'Around The Sun' world tour of 2004 and 2005, though it has yet to appear on an album.
They also played classic tracks including 'Wolves, Lower', 'Sitting Still', 'These Days', 'Disturbance At The Heron House', 'Second Guessing', and 'Electrolite'.
During the band's set at the Olympia Theatre, a sign flashed behind them saying "This Is Not A Show".
According to the band's website, they are '"taking advantage of a day off in Dublin today (July 2) before resuming their "working rehearsals" with another show in the city tomorrow. They then play two further shows at the same venue on Wednesday and Thursday.
REM will reportedly continue working on their new album with producer Jacknife Lee (known for his work with Bloc Party and Snow Patrol) in a Dublin studio.
