'Accelerate' is out on April Fool's Day

REM album release date revealed

REM have confirmed their new album 'Accelerate' will be released on April 1 in the US.

The album, which comes out a day earlier in Europe, is the follow-up to 2004’s’ 'Around The Sun', and features many tracks previewed at the band's intimate residency at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre in July 2007.

Recorded in Vancouver, Grouse Lodge studios in the Irish Midlands and the band's native Athens, the band worked with Snow Patrol/U2 producer Garret ‘Jackknife’ Lee on the record.

The title track, ‘Living Well Is the Best Revenge’, ‘Horse to Water’, and ‘Until the Day Is Done’ were among the tracks previewed at the Dublin shows, and several previously unheard tracks will also appear on the album, according to Billboard.
