ROCK'N'ROLL MUSIC

The ex-Verve frontman tells NME.COM this may be "one of the greatest songs I've ever written"...

RICHARD ASHCROFT has recorded "one of the greatest songs I've ever written" with [a][/a] legend BRIAN WILSON, NME.COM can reveal.

Speaking exclusively to NME.COM, the former The Verve frontman said the untitled track is currently in the running for inclusion on his second solo album, but before he can include it on any future release, he needs to get the approval of the eccentric star.

He said: "There's a good chance that Brian (Wilson) might be on the record...he's on one of the greatest songs I've ever written in my life. "

His new album, currently untitled, is due for release in the autumn.
