RICHARD HAWLEY has cancelled his UK tour at the last minute due to a rare bone disorder.

The ex-Longpigs, and occasional Pulp guitarist, was scheduled to play tonight (March 5) in Bristol, but has had to seek immediate medical attention due to the disease which affects his finger.

Hawley was forced to pull out of shows supporting Coldplay last year due his finger, which has already been operated on twice.

Medical staff have anticipated that the problem is only short term, and Hawley's support slot at Coldplay's sold-out charity gig at the London Royal Albert Hall later this month (March 24) will still go ahead.

Hawley's album 'Lowedges' was released last month.

The six-date tour will be rescheduled for later this year.
