MTV VMA come to a close in Las Vegas
Rihanna wins again, and Tommy Lee fights Kid Rock
The MTV Video Music Awards have come to a close in Las Vegas tonight (September 9).
Rihanna beat Justice, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake to win video of the year, presented to the Umbrella star by legendary producer Dr. Dre.
Introduing Dre to the stage was Mary J. Blige who told the crowd Every day is Dre day in music before the producer emerged on stage to a standing ovation.
Earlier in the evening Alicia Keys covered George Michaels Freedom while Fall Out Boy teamed up with Rihanna for a rendition of Shut Up And Drive.
Prior to the Best New Act Award, Kid Rock and Tommy Lee were involved in a punch-up, and Best New Award presenter called on the pair for peace.
Stop all this white on white violence! Tommy Lee and Kid Rock fighting like black folks or something! I was in the bathroom who won? Pamela Anderson has a hard choice to make tonight! he laughed.
Gym Class Heroes took home the award for Best New Act, fending off competition from Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, and Peter, Bjorn and John.
Later in the evening, Diddy commented Its not just hip hop artists that have fights, you gotta stop the violence in rock n roll.
