Rihanna 'appalled' by Chris Brown 'sorry' statement

Singer's camp speaks out about alleged attack

Rihanna 'appalled' by Chris Brown 'sorry' statement

A "close friend" of Rihanna has said that the singer is "appalled" by Chris Brown's statement that he released following his alleged attack on her earlier this month.

Following the alleged attack in Hollywood on February 8, Brown released a statement saying he was "sorry and saddened" by what happened.

Rihanna has not commented on the matter yet, but in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times a "close friend" of hers said that the singer was "appalled" by Brown's action in releasing the statement.

The anonymous friend added: "All of us, including Rihanna, don't understand how he can say he's sorry on the one hand, but still does not admit any guilt. He should have expressed more contrition."

Chris Brown has reportedly hired the services of Mel Gibson's PR guru, Alan Nierob.
