Rihanna duet with Chris Brown confirmed

Producer releases statement about controversial collaboration

It has been confirmed that Rihanna and Chris Brown recorded a duet together, just weeks after Brown was arrested for allegedly assaulting her.

According to a publicist for the track’s producer Polow Da Don, the song has been completed, but no further details have been given

"My heart goes out to both Chris and Rihanna for what has happened in the past," Da Don said in a statement, according to CNN. "They are both great artists to work with, and I wish them well."

Media reports say the track was originally written for Rihanna but it was reportedly after the alleged attack on February 8 that Brown came on board to collaborate.

Brown is due to be arraigned on April 6 of charges of criminal threat. A prearraignment hearing is set for March 23. He is not legally obliged to attend the prearraignment.

Brown yesterday withdrew his name from nominations for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
