Rihanna cancels Dubai concert
Event management says gig is "not appropriate timing"
Rihanna has cancelled a scheduled show in Dubai, which was to take place on May 28.
The concert was going to be her first live show since she was allegedly beaten by boyfriend Chris Brown the night before the Grammy Awards in February.
However, the events company that was due to stage the gig released a statement saying that she has pulled out and that her management explained that the event is "not appropriate timing for her".
Rihanna made her first public appearance since the February incident last night (May 4). She was the last celebrity to walk the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in New York, also known as "the Oscars of fashion".
Chris Brown’s next hearing is set for May 28, when it will be decided if there is enough evidence for the case to go to trial. However, a plea deal may be reached before then.
