Rihanna considering playing UK festivals next summer

Singer says she would 'love' to play Glastonbury

Rihanna considering playing UK festivals next summer

Rihanna has said that she is set to return to the UK next summer for more gigs and possibly festival appearances.

The shows would follow her arena tour in May, which was announced today (December 9).

The singer was speaking in a press conference in the Westfield Centre in west London when she hinted at the possibility of playing festivals during the gig run, adding that she would "love" to play Glastonbury.

"The tour starts in the spring, so we will be in the UK then," she said. "We will probably be back in the summer. We're going to be back in the UK. We always re-visit certain territories."

When asked if she meant she would be back for festivals or her own gigs in the summer, she replied: "Maybe both, definitely more gigs. We're not sure on the festivals yet, they may clash with the tour dates. But I'd love to do festivals."

When asked about Glastonbury, which was headlined by her mentor Jay-Z in 2008, Rihanna said she would "love" to play the event but did not suggest she had been booked for it yet.

"I would love to be there," she said. "Even if I’m not headlining I’d love to be there. It's a great festival and a great platform for me to be on."

Rihanna's UK arena tour kicks off at the Birmingham LG Arena on May 7. Tickets for all the dates go on sale at 9am (GMT) on Friday (December 11).
